Believable lies

There are people in this world that lie so much. It comes to a point that when their lies work really well for them, they begin to feel personal peace, sensation, and satisfaction. Following that point, they begin to believe their own lies and lie on a regular basis because their continuous lies have worked for them over and over (peace, sensation, and satisfaction). These people find that if they lie and they don't get caught, that it actually is more positive for them because it creates less drama. In reality this point serves a great purpose, because it can keep peace at some points. Only when the lie is found will it cause great harm. The offender is willing to automatically take that risk, however painful it is. Not getting caught outweighs getting caught because they are so good at it.

Do people mostly lie to protect themselves from the denial they are in...or, to save other people from the truth?

I say both. But why save other people from the truth? What is the main objective of doing so?

The main objective is clearly nothing but selfishness. We save people from the truth, so they do not get hurt. The truth is hard to reveal, being honest about a lie is even harder. Especially when there is a story pent up with little details told behind the lie. This makes the story seem more plausible then the reality of it.When they get caught, it is too hard to slither a way out. Everyone wants a good image of themselves. When that becomes corrupt, a person will do everything they can to regain their self image, even if that means more lies. It is selfish to hide the truth,or lie. We do so to save our own identity of who we "think" we are, as opposed to how others view us.
